Quality and Experience

Our instructor, Sensei Phil Shire, founded our club in 1988.

He has studied various styles of karate for many years

Has instructed at two other clubs before Sizewell and for several years taught in dojos across America,Scandinavia, Eastern Europe and Africa.

He has experienced competitive 'combat' karate at regional and national level and has several wins to his credit.

Phil has also appeared on BBC TV.

This wealth of experience is reflected in the continuing success of the students.

Our club has a wide range of grades training together regularly with an equally wide age range

Our youngest students are around six, our oldest member is in his seventies.

The club is affiliated to Jin Sei Kai, the national controlling body.

Membership includes personal and 3rd party insurance.

In addition the club has a separate insurance policy, and Phil and several of the assistant instructors also have their own personal policies.

• Our club is run as a non-profit making organisation
• All the instructors give their time freely
• Any profits are re-invested to benefit the students
