Our Instructors

	Phil Shire (5th Dan) Head Instructor Phil has over 30 years of teaching karate. He has taught karate in America, Africa, Europe, Scandinavia and in the old Eastern Block. He has fought for England in competition, and has many regional and national championships to his name both in kata and kumite. Phil has also got a black belt in another style and experience in many other martial arts.
	Joe Walsh (4th Dan) Senior Instructor Joe has over 36 years of martial arts experience with over 30 years teaching karate. He has also got significant experience of Judo, Tae kwondo and Jujitsu in which he graded and taught for many years. He is one of the regular kids club instructors.
	Alan Cartwright (3rd Dan) Senior Instructor Alan has been training and teaching at the clubs for over 19 years. Both his children trained at the club. James gained his 2nd Dan black belt and Sarah gained her 1st Dan black belt.
	Liz Hutchinson (4th Dan) Instructor Liz has been training and teaching at the clubs for 19 years. Liz has many national competition titles to her name both in kata and kumite. Liz is also the clubs secretary and press contact. She is also one of the regular kids club instructors.
	Samuel Stone (2nd Dan) Instructor Samuel has been training and teaching at the clubs for over 14 years. Samuel has many national competition titles to his name in kata, kumite and Bo.
	David Stone (3rd Dan) Senior Instructor David has been training and teaching at the clubs for over 19 years. Both his children trained at the club. Samuel, his youngest is a 2nd Dan black belt and an Instructor.
	Mike Dobney (1st Dan) Assistant Instructor Mike has been training and teaching at the clubs for around 14 years. Both of Mike's children, Charlie and Isobel have trained at the club. Mike is responsible for the clubs publicity ideas. He is one of the regular kids club instructors.

Tracey Barber (2nd Dan)
Instructor
Tracey has been training and teaching at the clubs for approx 8 years. She has competition titles for kumite. She is one of the regular kids club instructors and the club licensing officer. Her daughter also trains at the club, and her son is responsible for the website.

Richard Bloomfield (2nd Dan)
Instructor
Richard has been training and teaching at the clubs for approx 8 years. He is one of the regular kids club instructors.

Michelle Barker (1st Dan)
Assistant Instructor
Michelle has been training and teaching at the clubs for 7 years. She has competed in national kata competition

Matthew Clayton (1st Dan)
Junior Instructor
Matthew has been training at the clubs for 7 years. He is one of our junior black belt instructors

Emily Barber (1st Dan)
Junior Instructor
Emily has been training at the clubs for approx 8 years. She has won trophies in kata competition. Her mum is a 2nd Dan at the club
